 G&L JB-2, SN: CLF24089

This is a G&L JB-2 four string bass, made in the USA in 2002. It was created for the 2002 Winter NAMM show and has a few custom specifications as a result. Both the body and headstock are painted Silver Metallic. The body is carved out of poplar and the instrument weighs in at a little over eight lbs. The neck, custom made out of bird’s eye maple, is a comfortable “C” shape with a rosewood fingerboard and twenty one medium jumbo frets. Dot markers are at the third, fifth, seventh, ninth, twelfth, fifteenth, seventeenth and nineteenth frets.

It has a nut width of 1 1⁄2”, with a 12” fingerboard radius and a 34” scale length. A thinner neck profile, as found on this bass, is an option only available on these made in USA examples.

The alnico single coil pickups were designed using Leo Fender’s original plans for the 1962 Jazz Bass pickups. The electronics have a master tone and one volume pot for each pickup.

The G&L Saddle-Lock bridge, like all of the hardware throughout, is plated in chrome.
This is an easy to play and comfortably light weight instrument with two great sounding Alnico pickups and some great looking upgrades. What’s not to like?
