The SC-3 represents some of G&L's earliest work and has stood the test of time. While retaining some "stratiness" the SC-3 addresses some common weaknesses of a traditional stratocaster. Its MFD pickups still retained the chimey clarity of a single coil while being quieter. With a 25.5" scale length and 7.25" radius the slim C neck plays comfortably while still retaining a familiar characteristic.
This example is in excellent condition for its age. It has minor wear on the fingerboard particularly closer to the nut. The frets are in great condition with light wear that does not affect the guitar's playability. The body of the guitar shows wear consistent with its age. There are wear spots along the lower bout of the guitar where the wood has started to show through. There is also wear on the back of the body up to upper horn where the wood once again shows through.
