This is a Paul R. Languedoc G2, serial number G2-222. The interior of the body was signed by the builder in July of 2021. The top is solid carved Claro Walnut, the solid carved back and sides are matched Claro Walnut and the neck is a three ply laminate of Curly Hardr Maple with a Mahogany center strip. It is finished with 12 coats of nitrocellulose lacquer for a high gloss natural finish.

The body, neck, f-holes and headstock are bound in Koa with black-white-black purfling in Boxwood and Ebony for the top, f-holes, sides, back, the sides of the fingerboard and the sides of the headstock, while the top of the headstock has two ply white-black purfling. The headstock has an ebony headplate with Mr. Languedoc’s signature inlaid in mother of pearl. The tuners are Gotoh 510 in chrome and there is access for the truss rod under an ebony truss rod cover affixed with two screws. The fingerboard is ebony with  Roman Numeral inlays at the 12 and 24 and sharktooth inlay on the other frets. There are corresponding side dots in abalone.

The body is fully hollow with a pair of parallel carved tone bars on either side of the pickups. The pickups are a pair of Seymour Duncan ‘59 Humbuckers. They are mounted to the body with a pair of hand made pickup rings in ebony. The bridge is a floating adjustable type made of ebony with compensated brass saddles. The tailpiece is hand carved ebony, affixed to the body with a chrome plated plate. The electronics include a master volume and tone, a pickup selector switch, a coil selector switch and a series/parallel switch. The coil selector switch has three positions, with the humbuckers active in the center position. In the down position, the outer coils are active and in the up position the inner coils are active.

The scale length is 25 ½,” and the nut width is 1 11/16.” The neck is a subtle thin “V” profile. Plugged in or not, this instrument already has a full bodied and well balanced sound.
