This is a 1999 Les Paul Studio solid body guitar. At the time of manufacture, the Les Paul Studio was offered with a number of variations to the basic Studio specifications. This one features an unbound body and neck with a high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish throughout. The serial number is stamped on the back of the headstock indicating a manufacture date at the start of 1999. The fingerboard is rosewood with pearl dot inlays and twenty two frets, the nut is 1 11/16” and the neck is a comfortable and fast “C” shape.
The hardware is chrome plated: Grover Rotomatic tuners, pickup covers, tune-o-matic bridge, tailpiece, a chrome pickguard bracket and jack plate. The humbuckers are the 490R and 498T combination offered throughout this era of Gibson Production. There are four black speed knobs and a black pickguard. This is from the pre-chambered era of Les Paul production, weighing in at 11 pounds.
There are a few dings and dents throughout and a finish check running 1 ½” from the Rhythm/Treble switch. The frets are recently dressed with little evidence of playwear and plenty of life left. Overall, this is a great sounding and playing ‘no frills’ Les Paul.
