Often compared to Jazzmasters and Jaguars, The SG-3 was one of Yamaha's first entries into high-end electric guitar manufacturing, with an original price tag of $249.50. The pickups were aggressive for the 60's, and the chunkier bridge unit and "blender" circuit helps produce its magic. Link Wray famously played a Red SG-2 and production for these guitars ended in the late 60's.  s/n 03639
